The idea for Flying Kites came about when a group of students began a research project
for an introductory college course in global poverty. Our team has since grown to include
professionals from a variety of fields, dedicated to developing the Flying Kites model, and
together we recognize the power of the ambitious student.
My Turn is an international movement of students who believe
the time has come to end the violence of poverty.
Through the campaign, students sign up to become a M.U.T. (My Turn University Team-leader), and commit to hosting three events a year to help break the cycle of poverty for orphans in Africa.
M.U.T.s spread awareness on their campuses and bring the initiative to their hometowns by presenting the Flying Kites DVD to their local high schools, churches, community centers, book groups and even in their own living rooms!
